We watch the grandson of ‘Fat Boy.’
	whom the Japanese called ‘Original Child.’
	because there had never been anyone like him.
	‘Fat Boy’ was born Aug. 6, 1945.
	The annunciation was secret, code-named ‘Trinity’
This one is far mightier
	His name will be unremembered.
But he is born at Christmas Island.
No shadows of the sacrifices printed on walls,
	Mute witnesses of his power.
The observers of the mushroom cloud are removed,
	and protected from the deadly radiation,
		so we believe.
The flash, too bright for mortal eyes, is recorded on film.
No need to evacuate.
No need to stand by for instructions.
